The design wind loads on this cotton tensile generate up to 5 tonnes pull out load in each corner and as the building had not been constructed to withstand this, the challenge was to design a structure around the membrane that would dissipate the loads within the structure itself. We achieved this with rocker connections, transference and perimeter rigging. Norway spruce with stainless flitch plates and fittings were used.
