About Timber Intent
Our environmental and ethical policies guarantee a green approach and we use only natural or recycled materials from ecologically
sound and sustainable sources. Our standard and bespoke timber and fabric structures provide an eco-friendly and eye-catching sculptural
element to both public and private spaces.
Products range from simple "Garden Party" sails and the "Skipper" multi-functional structure suitable for
schools, hotels and visitor centres, to highly engineered tensile structures, such as the Eden Project Queue walkway cover, the Bristol
Zoo entrance canopies or the Hotel Du Vin al fresco dining canopy.
Managing Director
Roger Brisley MSc
With over 30 years experience in both Architecture and Engineering and a passion for eco-friendly building solutions, Roger has an MSc
from Hooke Park College, part of the John Makepeace Parnham Trust. Whilst working at Architen and despite enjoying designing and managing
tensile projects there he was never completely happy with the material components they used and had the idea of offering more
environmentally friendly structures.
Timber Intent was established in 1996 making it probably the oldest, most established tensile fabric-structure
manufacturer in its original guise in the UK today.
Opportunities
We are always looking to spread the word and expand our markets, we love collaborating and are keen to develop or prototype ideas and designs
that others may have. We are particularly interested in designs that use forest thinnings, a resource we believe to be massively underutilised
and natural, re-cycled and sustainable fabrics, we have lots of ideas, in-depth experience of markets and can offer designers commissions for
commercially successful designs.
Confidentiality and copyrights respected and assured.
Agents
Enquiries from new and established UK and International Architectural Sales Agents are always welcomed.
If interested in any of the above in the first instance please contact Roger Brisley directly.
